Running2Recovery was inspired by my brother, Donald L. Phillips Jr., who went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2022, at just 30 years old.

Donnie was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved sports, the outdoors, and staying active. While out on a run, we talked about his battle with addiction — something he had fought for years.

What stood out from that day was how much he valued staying busy, staying outside, and how deeply our environment growing up affected him.

That day, we talked about how we could make a difference and how the community could support our youth before they fall into similar struggles. We dreamed of creating something that would encourage kids to stay active, stay focused, and stay away from drugs and alcohol.

That’s how Running2Recovery was born.

“It takes a village to raise a child”

That village starts right here, with us.
